My first month at IBM was great. Prior to onboarding training, IBM provided me with a buddy who answered most of my questions. By the time I reported to onboarding training, I felt relaxed and confident that I can be successful here at IBM. Joining a company like IBM can be overwhelming for a new hire. But through systems such as beehive, sametime, and other web2.0’s, the process for IBMers to develop relationships has become easy. Likewise, once we have developed a relationship, it is important to build up on that relationship to expand our networking community. I now have multiple relationships with colleagues throughout IBM; and even until this day, my buddy and I continue to communicate. I am now building more relationships and finding that networking through blogs can only help me as a professional.

"I was not a typical new hire"
Hey Sacha, that is the understatement of the year! I wish all our new hires were like you.
