Boundaries to Collaboration, people need to want to cross

Check out a great post by Steward Mader on organizations with boundaries to collaboration

This is something I have seen so many times.  Clients which are so silo’ed, they are practically a dysfunctional family.  Social networking can help break down these barriers, but it has to start with the people.  I remember asking a client for something (back in Web1.0), and she said, “but that is not my job”.  She had her silo, and was completely comfortable staying there.  It is great to see many of our clients embracing the change, but as always, there are some who don’t see the need to change.

p.s. if you noticed a sudden increase in my blogging tonight (on all my blogs), it is because my baby is having a nice long nap.
